Jeffrey A. Misenheimer (“Jeff’) joined the firm on November 1, 2023. Jeff was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1999 and has over 24 (twenty four) years experience representing a wide variety of clients, including self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, North Carolina District and Superior Courts, as well as the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court. Jeff focuses primarily in workers’ compensation and general insurance defense litigation. Jeff has handled a multitude of cases, including reported and unreported cases.
Jeff has achieved an A rating by Martindale Hubbell, the highest designation for attorneys, has been listed in North Carolina Super Lawyers, and has recently been elected to serve a rare second term on the Workers’ Compensation Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association. Jeff has also served as the past chair of the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, as well as a past member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. Jeff is a past chair and member of the Workers’ Compensation Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association. Jeff has been a frequent presenter and instructor at the North Carolina Industrial Commission’s Annual Conference, North Carolina Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Conferences, and numerous other educational seminars.
Jeff earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence, J.D., from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, in 1999. During his time there, he was a distinguished member of the Justice Richard “Red” Jones National Moot Court Team and the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board. Jeff holds a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, where he was a four year member of the Varsity Baseball Team and majored in Political Science.
Jeff has spent many years serving as a Leader in Bible Study, as well as serving on boards at his church, Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Jeff is an avid golfer, enjoys traveling and all types of music. Jeff especially enjoys spending time with his son, John.
